Preprava
Na prepravu králika použite buď špeciálnu prepravku na zvieratá, alebo kartónovú škatuľu, ktorú vysteliete savou podstielkou. Na dlhšiu cestu mu dajte kúsok jablka alebo niečo šťavnaté, aby nebol smädný a dávajte pozor aby naňho nepálilo slnko a aby mal dostatok vzduchu.
Privykanie
Váš nový miláčik sa vás asi bude spočiatku trochu báť, bude sa tlačiť v kúte klietky alebo zalezie do domčeka (preto domček radšej dávajte do klietky až keď si králik na vás zvykne). Čoskoro si však na nový domov aj na vás zvykne. Dobré je keď sa mu budete prihovárať, tak si zapamätá váš hlas a bude vás podľa neho poznať. Nikdy neľakajte králika hlasnými alebo nečakanými zvukmi. Ako spoznáte, že si zvieratko zvyklo? Nebude sa pri vašom príchode ku klietke skrývať, ale vzpriami sa na zadné labky pri mriežke.
Rada: Niektorí ľudia nechávajú králika spočiatku na pokoji v klietke niekoľko dní, kým si zvykne a až potom si ho zoberú na ruky alebo pustia pobehať po izbe. Králik si ľahšie zvykne, keď si ho hneď od prvého dňa beriete na ruky a hladkáte ho (nie však dlho, ale často), tak zistí, že sa mu pri vás nič zlé nestane. A tiež je dobré, ak si vezmete s králičkom aj trochu krmiva, ktoré dostával u bývalého majiteľa.
